Position Details

Our client is a multinational company operating in the Energy industry. They are now looking to hire an Accountant to join their shared services centre in Sofia and provide support to a regional accounting team currently in charge of 14 entities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform Bank related accounting activities and control strictly all banking operations:
    • Ensure timely recording of treasury entries
    • Liaise with the Treasury to ensure a recurring bank reconciliation
    • Reconcile bank accounts
    • Report on and fix any issues
  • Assist the team in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process on a timely manner and in respect of corporate guidance and instructions
  • Assist in the coordination of accounting activities:
    • Validate, justify and post routine accounting entries
    • Provide integrity assurance on the following GL processes: fixed assets, payroll elements, inventory, determination of revenue and expense accruals, any required provision, expense reports, Sales & Use Tax and any local tax provision, cash and bank information, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of analysis and reconciliations including but not limited to:
    • Intercompany reconciliation
    • Inventory reconciliation
    • Bank reconciliation
    • Payroll reconciliation
  • Contribute to maintaining a high quality Internal Control Environment
  • Support audit reviews and provide information as required
  • Liaise with other teams (Operations, Tax and Finance) as required to ensure proper collaboration
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team with regards to invoice postings and payments
  • Create Purchase Requisitions in SAP (as needed)
  • Issue different types of invoices
  • Run various ad-hoc reports and analysis as required by your line manager or any other departments

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or another relevant discipline
  • Previous accounting experience (e.g. internships) and bookkeeping skills will be considered an advantage
  • English language skills are required
  • Good understanding of accounting processes and procedures is expected
  • Analytical skills and attention to details
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently
