Position Details

Our client is a multinational company operating in the Energy industry. They are currently seeking a GL Accountant to join their shared services centre in Sofia.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform Bank related accounting activities and Control strictly all banking operations:
    • Ensure timely recording of treasury entries
    • Liaise with the Treasury to ensure a recurring bank reconciliation
    • Reconcile strictly the bank accounts
    • Report on and fix any issues
  • Assist the Senior Accountant with the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process
  • Assist with the following accounting activities:
    • Validate, justify and post any required accounting entry
    • Provide integrity assurance on processes such as fixed assets, payroll elements, inventory, determination of revenue and expense accruals, any required provision, expense reports, VAT and any local tax provision, cash and bank information, etc.
    • Provide the group with all necessary analysis and reports
    • Ensure filing and archiving of accounting supporting documents
  • Assist in preparation of analysis and reconciliations necessary to explain accounting information:
    • Intercompany reconciliation
    • Fixed Assets reconciliation
    • Bank reconciliation
    • Payroll reconciliation
    • Balance Sheet / Net equity reconciliation
  • Ensure compliance with general principles and internal practices to get straight clearance of the statutory and management accounts in a timely manner:
  • Maintain high quality Internal Control Environment
  • Support audit reviews and answer potential requests as requried
  • Support other functions as needed, especially related to any legal or tax issues
  • Prepare and update CFF/cash projections on a timely basis
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team with regards to payments
  • Create Purchase Requisitions in SAP as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other
  • 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience and bookkeeping skills
  • English language skills are required, a second foreign language would be a plus
  • SAP experience preffered, BPC experience preferred
  • IFRS basic knowledge
  • Good understanding of accounting processes and procedures
  • Analytical skills and high attention to details
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Rigorous and proactive
