Position Details
One of our clients – a pharmaceuticals company, is looking to hire a Head of Tax to join their office in Sofia. You will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including finance teams, tax consultants, regulatory authorities, production facilities, and distribution centers.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide internal tax advisory services on business matters and initiatives across the entire group.
- Responsible for organising and ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations to maximize adherence to tax legislation and guidelines within the Group.
- Be a main point of contact for guidance and support on Transfer Pricing matters including but not limited to:
- Review and revise the group transfer pricing policy.
- Offer recommendations to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks, while ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Get involved in APA’s and BAPA’s where relevant
- Prepare and review tax returns (e.g. CIT, withholding tax) as well as other documents as required.
- Provide Tax support for quarterly and/or year-end closing process for local and IFRS reporting purposes.
- Lead or support ad-hoc local and global tax evolutions and initiatives.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics
- 8+ years’ experience in tax management, preferably within an international or multinational company. Prior experience at a Big 4 firm would be considered an advantage.
- Proven track record in managing complex tax matters, including transfer pricing, international tax planning, and compliance.
- Ability to develop and implement tax strategies.
- Experience in advising senior management on tax implications of strategic decisions.
- Capability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations and their impact on the organization.
- Expertise in ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- A proactive and ‘can do’ attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across different departments and regions.
