Position Details
Our client is a leading German manufacturer, currently setting up a Global Business Services centre in Sofia.
They are on the lookout for a professional with significant IFRS knowledge to join them in Sofia as IFRS Lead. In this role, you will be overseeing the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and a special emphasis on IFRS 16 (Leases). The role also involves managing the end-to-end RTR process, ensuring accurate and timely financial data, and providing leadership and guidance to the RTR team.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with IFRS 16.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of lease agreements, including recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure of leases.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on IFRS 16 related issues and ensure compliance across the organization.
- Collect lease contract information from various global business units to ensure complete and accurate reporting.
- Lead and mentor the RTR team, providing guidance and support in daily operations and professional development.
- Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth operations and adherence to deadlines.
- Work closely with other finance teams, business units, and senior management to provide financial insights and support.
- Act as a liaison between the Shared Service Center and various stakeholders to address and resolve RTR-related issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the RTR process and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an international group or at a Big 4 company.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, with a deep understanding of IFRS 16.
- Practical experience with SAP SEM-BCS and SAP R/3 are an advantage.
- Advanced user of the MS Office package.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
