For one of our American clients operating in the energy sector, we are on the lookout for an IT Security Manager who will lead and monitor the overall security exposure of the company. The new team member will act as a global process owner and play a key role in providing the organization vision for cyber security, all IT security-related programs and risk mitigation strategies towards achievement of IT Security goals and compliance.

Position Details

Job Description:

  • Report directly to the Chief Information Officer and and perform a functional management role;
  • Review and enhance existing information security policies and processes;
  • Develop, maintain and implement new proper information security standards and guidelines, oversee their distribution and practice;
  • Deliver management reporting incl. regular/ad-hoc reporting and analytics for IT security;
  • Identify knowledge gaps and develop organization-wide training to increase security awareness of relevant information security practices and procedures;
  • Work with system administrators to audit, monitor and validate their environment’s security;
  • Lead investigations of any actual or potential information security risks;
  • Implement disaster recovery planning, coordinate the incident response and security threat;
  • Drive continuous improvement in the organization’s level in the IT security function by assessing, testing, selecting and implementing new security products and technologies;
  • Manage day-to-day operation and configuration of internal security-related systems
  • Monitor system-generated data to identify events that require resolution;
  • Manage external vendors providing security services (firewall monitoring, security event monitoring and response, etc.);
  • Identify, structure and implement enhancements in IT security for all segments, incl. hardware, networks, software;

Key requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security and Risk Management or 10 years of overall experience in IT related positions;
  • A university degree in Business, Information Technology or Governance;
  • High level of management skills so as to be able to drive the Security strategy and roadmap according to best standards;
  • Strong technical security knowledge and expertise in principles and application of IT security concepts;
  • Proven track record and experience in developing information security programs, policies and procedures, including successful implementations in large enterprise environments;
  • High level of expertise in networks, server technologies, security-related equipment and systems;
  • Initiative and process-oriented person who is able to work independently in a senior capacity;
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills, able to tailor communications to audience;
  • Able to interact effectively with stakeholders, including senior management and representatives from other functions of the organization;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Willingness to travel (20-30%);
